Question about OBB available markets that are returned in the SessionCreate response (and also for the separate endpoint AvailableMarkets) – would they be…

filtered by market contingency-wise only (e.g., self-excluding, when added to the bet slip some markets won't be available), or also filtered by current market status as Suspended, etc.? So can we expect the suspended but available bet builder-wise market to be returned in the SessionCreate response and also in the separate endpoint AvailableMarkets?

Yes, you can expect a suspended (but theoretically BetBuilder-eligible) market to be returned in both the AvailableMarkets response and the SessionCreate response. The filtering of markets returned by these endpoints operates on two different layers: structural/contingency-wise filtering handled by the OBB engine and live status filtering handled by the Odds Feed. Here is a breakdown of how this works and what you should expect:

  1. Structural & contingency filtering (handled by OBB) – the BetBuilder API dynamically filters markets based on logical compatibility and active selections.
  2. Self-excluding / contradictory markets: Outcomes that logically contradict each other (such as Home Win and Away Win) cannot be combined.
  3. Map vs. match restrictions: You cannot mix map-level markets with match-level markets in the same BetBuilder bet.
  4. Dynamic slip updates: As a user adds each selection to their bet slip, you call SessionCreate. The OBB engine calculates the new session on the fly and returns an updated available_markets array, automatically filtering out any markets that have become structurally invalid based on the existing selections.
  5. Live status filtering (handled by the Odds Feed) – the OBB service does not automatically strip out suspended markets from its responses because their state is highly dynamic and managed elsewhere.
  6. The Oddin.gg documentation explicitly states that "The AvailableMarkets list is to be used with the market states from the Odds Feed."
  7. You should use AvailableMarkets (or SessionCreate's available_markets) to understand which markets are theoretically capable of being built into an OBB session. You must then cross-reference this list with the live Odds Feed to determine if a market is currently active (status="1"), suspended (status="-1"), or deactivated (status="0").

Because the OBB responses are computed near-real-time from both the live odds feed and OBB settings, a suspended market will still be returned as a viable option for the bet builder. When a market is suspended in your live Odds Feed, you should grey out or lock the corresponding selection in your BetBuilder UI rather than completely hiding it. This prevents UI "flickering" (markets vanishing and reappearing) and ensures that when the market is reactivated in the live feed, it immediately becomes clickable again for the bettor.
