Why are some teams/competitors in the Data Feed (Bragi) the same when they appear in different sports?

Can you somehow split or unmerge them to have separate IDs?

Regarding team structures, a team/competitor in our system represents the overarching organisation rather than a single game's roster. Splitting these into sport-specific teams would alter team identities across our whole platform, so we don't plan to unmerge them. You shouldn't need to build complex logic to handle this on your side, as the data is already partitioned in our team profile response:

  • You can use current_map_roster_by_sport to get a roster grouped by sport. For example, if you just need a team's CS2 lineup, you can read that specific entry and ignore the rest.
  • Each player entry includes a sports list attributing members to specific titles. An empty list means their participation isn't recorded yet, so please treat this as unknown rather than an error.
  • Within a match context, lineups are single-sport by construction—Match.sport gives you the title and Match.players provides the lineup for that match only.

Please note that the flat current_map_roster field is now deprecated, so we recommend moving to the per-sport field if you still use it.
