Why are some teams/competitors the same in different sports? Can you somehow split or unmerge them to have separate IDs?

Regarding team structures, a team/competitor in our system represents the overarching organisation rather than a single game's roster. This is a global feature in our system, so it is the same in Data Feed, Odds Feed, and other services. Splitting these into sport-specific teams would alter team identities across our whole platform, so we don't plan to unmerge them.
