Why is a combo bet (multi-bet) rejected by OTS if it mixes Outright and regular market selections?
Blocking combo bets that mix Outrights and standard match markets is a deliberate rule. This restriction keeps pricing accurate and protects against hidden risks across several areas:
- Hidden dependencies: Events can be linked in subtle ways that are hard to spot automatically. For example, a result in a minor qualification match directly affects team seeding, morale, or entry into a main tournament outright market.
- Long-term risk: Outright markets run for weeks or months. Over time, team changes, injuries, or schedule updates shift the true odds of a combined ticket in ways standard pricing models cannot predict.
- System safety: Checking for related selections case by case creates room for human error or software glitches. A single blanket rule acts as an absolute fail-safe to keep all bets fair and secure.
