If URLs don't expire, why might an old widget appear empty?

There's a practical limitation on the data displayed, not the URL itself. For older matches, the widget may stop loading content if one of the teams involved has become inactive—typically after roughly 3 months of inactivity. The URL still works, but very old matches may show no content if the teams are no longer active.
